New OC - The Dark Queen

In the farthest reaches of Ooo, hidden in a canyon where light could barely reach it, lies a castle seemed to have been forgotten by time. The gate that stands guard at the front is now rusted and barely hanging onto it's own hinges. The stones that the castle is made of are slowly crumbling and breaking away. However, lately pieces of the castle seem to be getting repaired, by whom no one is sure. The mysterious atmosphere of the castle and the talk of "moving shadows" has brought about many legends and myths about the place. But the one that seems to hold true for most would be the one of The Dark Queen.

Legend has it that many years ago, a young princess ruled over a thriving peaceful kingdom in Ooo. Even though she ran the kingdom alone and without any help, the people loved her for her kindness and generosity towards them. And they we happy for her when the Prince from a neighboring kingdom came into her life. However, no one could have expected the horrible outcome. The Prince had used her and brought in his own army to take over her kingdom. The peaceful kingdom was gravely unprepared and fell almost immediately to the charging army. The princess was devastated and was then exiled from what was once her kingdom.
Banished from her home and not sure of where to go, she just roamed the lands looking for shelter. She eventually made her way into the canyons. As she made her way further in, the light of day seemed to slowly disappear with each step till it was as if she was walking in the dead of night. When she finally made her way to the end of the path, she suddenly came upon a dark, looming and sinister looking castle hidden amongst the darkness. In need of shelter and food, she looked past the castle's unwelcoming exterior and made her way past the rusted creaking gate.
As she approached the front entrance of the castle, a small black cat suddenly appeared on the door step. Nothing could have prepared her for when the cat suddenly began to talk to her! But she slowly began to relax as the cat began to share a tale of how the now shambled castle was once a beautiful home for those called the Shadez. He went on how a warrior came and trapped the Shadez source of power inside a chest in the lower parts of the castle. With their power gone, the Shadez slowly began to dissipate away and that staying within his feline form, he was able to avoid that fate but now was the last of his people. He gestured to a key tied around his neck and explained how he was able to get the key to the chest but, being in his present form, was not able to turn the key himself. He began to plead with the princess for help. If she could open the chest and bring the power back to the kingdom, then the Shadez would be able to return and she would be rewarded highly for her kindness.
Wanting to help and having nowhere else to go, she agreed and followed the cat down into the lower parts of the castle. When they came to the bottom of the winding stairs, she walked into a barely lit chamber with a wooden chest covered with chains sitting in the middle of the room. She slowly removed the key from around the feline's neck and walked over to the chest. She kneeled down, placed the key inside the lock and turned it until the lock clicked and the chains slipped off the chest. The sound of the lid slowly creaking open echoed throughout the room as she opened the chest and looked inside. Sitting at the bottom was a small crown with a blue gem placed in the middle of it. She slowly picked it up in her hands and examined it as the gem gave off a faint blue glow. The cat began to explain that when the warrior attacked, he had also taken away their ruler. The power from the blue gem is what kept the Shadez alive. But without a ruler to wear it, the gem was useless. He then continued by saying that if she was willing to place the crown upon herself, then the kingdom could thrive again and she could take the previous ruler's place.
She fought with the decision but then realizing she had no other place to go and that maybe she could create a new life here, she gently placed the crown upon her head. Almost immediately, the gem glowed with a massive light that completely engulfed the room in it's blue light. As the light began to die down, several shadow like creatures began to slowly creep out of the shadows of the room and approach her. The princess was horrified at the sight of the creatures with their soulless eyes and sinister looking grins and backed away. The cat slowly approached her and explained how these creatures were the Shadez. He then assured her that they would not hurt her, after all, she was now their queen. She quickly reached up to try to take of the crown, no longer wanting the responsibility over what ever kind of creatures these were. Suddenly, the gem began to glow again and she slowly felt herself changing. Her eyes clouded over and began to take the form of those of the creatures. The crown slowly began to tighten around her head, fusing itself to her now making it impossible to remove. At first horrified at what was happening, she slowly began to relax and a twisted smile appeared on her face. The gem slowly began to transform her once pure heart into something sinister and as dark and cold as the shadows she now commanded. Returning to the upper part of the castle, she took her seat at her throne with the Shadez around her waiting for her command. The once pure and kind hearted Princess was now The Dark Queen............

Of course, all this is just a legend handed down generation after generation. Though some swear that in the middle of the night, if you suddenly see something moving in the shadows, it just may be one of the Shadez. Some even sleep with a single light on saying that it will frighten away any Shadez that come around. Though some say that the Shadez can survive in light but only in their alternate animal forms. However, this is all talk and nothing more than a story meant to scare those who care to listen. Though the old castle does still stand there to this day for those willing to see if the legends are true. But be warned, those seeking to find out the truth, may not be happy with what they find after they come back. And if the legends are true.......... you'll be lucky to come back at all.

(( If you actually read all that, you get a cookie XD So yeah, this was the OC I came up with on my internet less trip. I seem to come up with some strange stuff when I'm bored :I Anyways, I've kind of noticed there aren't many evil royalty people around, so I came up with one :3 So you may or may not remember my OC the Shadow Princess that I tried to work with. I just couldn't really get myself into the dainty princess role. But an evil queen, that I think I can do ;3 Don't know if I'll even really use her, but I guess if you guys want to ask her any questions or RP with her, be my guest! But be warned, she's not exactly............... nice. So if she calls you "worm" or "cretin", it's just all part of her "charm". ))
